Anyone who is 62 years or older or who would benefit from the features of our mobility-accessible units may apply for residence at Leisure Acres. If you are 55 years or older you will need to contact the housing authority to apply. The building was constructed under an agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) specifically designed for low-income residents. Low-income means the family's income must be at or below 50% of the area median income. Your rent will be approximately thirty percent (30%) of the adjusted monthly income of all residents in your unit.

    1 Bedroom - Max: 2 people

    2 Bedroom - Min: 2 people, Max: 4 people

  • What is the proposed rent?

    Rent approximately 30% of your adjusted gross income.

  • Is there an income limit?

    Yes. Please contact the office for the current HUD income limits.

  • Why are there income limitations?

    This building was constructed under an agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and designed for low income senior citizens.

  • Is this an assisted living facility?

    Leisure Acres Phase II does not provide "assisted living," nursing services, or personal care. Residents must be capable of fulfilling lease requirements.

  • What is included in my rent?

    Water, garbage, and sewer are included in your rent. An allowance for gas and electricity is given. Cable TV, phone, and internet are not included in rent.

  • How many apartments are at your facility?

    128 one-bedroom apartments with 14 being mobility accessible apartments and 6 two­ bedroom apartments.

  • Can I have a vehicle on site?

    Yes, parking is available on a first­ come first-serve basis.

  • What arrangements have been made concerning laundry facilities?

    There is a laundry room containing coin operated washers and dryers in each building.

  • Do you allow pets?

    Yes, please let the office know if you wish to bring a pet to the facility. Please refer to the Pet Policy for more guidance.

  • Can I see an apartment?

    Yes, please contact the office at (309) 694- 4335 to set up a tour.

  • Will there be any activities at the facility?

    Leisure Acres Phase II has an active residents' association that plans many functions in the community room.

  • Is this a smoke free environment?

    No, at this point residents are allowed to smoke in their apartments. According to State and Local laws, you must be 15 feet from any door or window. Please note, HUD considers marijuana a banned substance under federal guidelines.

  • Does the facility provide Wi-Fi and cable TV?

    Cable TV is available in the community building.

  • Can I have visitors/guests?

    Yes, you may have visitors. Residents are responsible for their visitors while on the property. Guests may stay on occasion not to exceed 14 cumulative days in a 12-month period.
